to school no more!

woOOOooooOOOoooHooooOOOOOOOoooooO!!
no more twice a week 7-10pm classes, no more thick textbooks, no more burning of midnight oil and burning away my beauty sleep, no more saturday tutorials, no more projects, no more stupid mistakes commonly made by MDIS, no more anything to do with school cos i'm OUT of it.
WHY?
becos ms eleen lim officially graduated from university of bradford TODAY!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!! :D
trust me, it was a huge relief! i had a tough 3 years (or more) of juggling work, school and personal life. glad that it's all over and i am now a full time working adult!
the ceremony was dreadful.. registration started at 9am, robing and briefing lasted almost 2 hours and the actual ceremony only started at 12.30pm and ended at 3.30pm. too many graduands and speeches that i fell asleep waiting for my cohort's turn to go up on stage.
well, before i fell asleep, i took the waiting time to reflect in retrospect and got so emotional that i almost teared. looking back, i am indeed very fortunate for i have very supportive parents who have been involved in every all important stages of my life. and of course, i'm aware of it. a few examples that i can quote:
i was in military band as my cca during secondary school and encountered lots of problems. i remembered how my parents would support and watched me compete in the bi-annual band competition held in national stadium. when the results were announced that we did not win the best marching band award, i broke down totally and ran and hug my mom just like a little kid!
my mom is a typical housewife auntie but definitely a very bubbly and cute one! she knows the importance of having a driver's license so she actually went to work part-time and paid for my driving lessons after i turned 18. she's such a sweet mom!!
after poly, i decided to stop school and start leading a working life. but the indecisive me wanted to pursue a degree after 2 years of working. i thought i would get a big lecture from my dad when i told him that. instead, he told me to go ahead and he would gladly pay the school fees in full.
i'm truly blessed and grateful to my parents for who i am today. i came from a humble background with parents who have received little education but yet, we are able to lead a great life with no financial burdens/debts, my dad with his less than 4k salary can afford to send his daughter to finish tertiary education.. i'm so proud of my parents and i know i will be able to do you proud. i'm on it, and will do even better!
