the pok gai month
31 July 2009 @ 10:30 PM
i've been trying to load pictures but the stupid blogger post page has been mal-functioning since god knows when that i started to think, have i exceeded the number of pictures that i can load? i got so irritated that i almost wanted to start a new blog with wordpress..
anyway, the pok gai month also know as feasting month, has been fun (going to bday celebrations) yet stressful (juggling 4 exams and work) at the same time. and sure enough, i need to mend my pocket abit with all the spending on gifts and dinners. but i must say, birthday is one of the most useful excuse to get your friends out of their comfort zone or busy schedule to catch up.
so here's what i've been/done/eaten in the last one month:
1 july
cousin ginny's bday - feast at vienna international buffet located at united square
4 july
cousin yanzhi's 21st bday - bbq and buffet at bukit batok
5 july
1st anniversary - great seafood at greenwood fish bistro followed by an inspirational tour at da vinci's exhibition
ps: lobster bisque is a MUST-TRY!!
9 july
catch up session with long-lost poly mate jean where she brought me to the ship restaurant at orchard towers - tender and huge portion of steak, that is value for money - definitely not losing to astons! and i especially love the cozy ambiance!!
11 july
baby niece xuan's 1st bday - buffet party at punggol
13 july
yanting's bday - dinner at spageddies paragon - i crave for that alvino lobster with scallop pasta!! *SLURP*
18 july
no special occasion but mom treated us to our favorite uncle leong's crab stall at amk, serving yummy crab beehoon soup and creamy golden sand crab!
25 july
ah ma's 80th bday - buffet party at sengkang
28 july
shan's bday - brought her to the ship restaurant and tried escargots and seafood pasta. again, very generous serving that left us super bloated!!
29 july
elin's bday - korean bbq at esplanade + sweeeet choco treats at max brenner. hmm, what i can say is korean bbq is astonishing over-priced and max brenner's standard dropped dropped dropped in both service and variety
31 july
ex-colleague catch up - dinner at apolo banana leaf serving indian cuisine. not very much of an indian fan, but i'm glad i din see too much of mash liquid food. i had the usual briyani rice, tandoori chicken, curry fish head, mutton and sambal king prawns.
and now you know why i put on that 'few' kilos..
