24th birthday

still remember traces of my birthday celebrations the previous year and again, i'm another year older. i thought i just turned 23?! time no longer flies, it zooms these days..
so what have i achieved in the past one year? seriously, i can't think of a lot other than the nitty-gritty items listed below.
* managed to scrape through my papers
* met many new faces and made some friends
* finally got myself a facebook account
despite the insignificant achievements, i feel i have grown quite a bit in the last one year. i thought i aged a lot, both mentally and physically. okie, maybe the aging part was due to many unhappiness encountered along the way but it was definitely new lesson learnt after every incident and i knew how to take things lightly and see them in a new perspective.
anyway, the last 2 weeks were spent with mixed feelings. but of course, the many joyful events triumphs the temporary gloominess that hit me quite badly.. anyway, it's over and no point dwelling on it. and even before the actual day, colleagues are coming to me, telling me they won't be in town to celebrate with me. i really appreciate everyone who remembers and put in some effort to make it a special day for me.

calls and smses from friends, colleagues, family, ex-school mates streamed in throughout the day and i received all very sweet wishes from those close to my heart, and some from as far as san fran. lemme give some credit to these nice folks - nigee, dardar, has, reece, ant, angel, elin, zhongchao, stanley, ken, shan, marky, xingni, gary, weihao, auntie-mummy, serene, alex, mitch, pauline, marie, jeemeng, pat, janice, jean, stephy, gu and hazel, radzi, jia, ting, mond, viv, zhenhao, elyn, dom and rest of the inforians!
the first thing i saw on my table was a bag of 'lucky' stones from ken. though many have agreed that he must have gotten them from his abandoned fish tank but i still appreciate his thoughts la. it's quite an achievement already to receive something from a weirdo with rollercoaster mood swings.
the pleasant surprise came in when i received the beautiful roses from jeemeng. very sweet of him to remember even when he's in san fran. aww..
the marketing ladies took me out for lunch at blue mist (amara) that serves surprisingly fresh and good fish&chips and grilled fish with cheese sauce! wooo!
when i came back from lunch, pat, stephy and jean presented me with a cute baby angel and a lovely card! i was quite paisay since i'm not so close with the finance sales team (although they're my neighbors) and they still bought me something.
what really brought my spirit to the peak was the little surprise that the marketing team prepared for me! they gathered rest of the people and turned jeemeng's room into a small party room for me to cut the cake. it was really unforgettable when serene presented the gift to me and the huge card. messages was so heart-warming and i know they went through quite a bit to plan the 'operations' for me.
pauline even dragged me to swatch, hoping i would choose something but i didn't and poor serene had to rush down to vivo to get me something. i also knew she went high and low in search for my fav chocolates! i teared the moment i read her sweet message to me. she has put in a lot of thoughts and efforts to make my day a special one and her sincerity moved me to tears! *sob* everyone tried to make me the happiest person in office. i am indeed one fortunate girl.
i was glad that nigee did take some time off his superbly busy schedule to have dinner with me. though it was a short dinner at hogs breath, i really appreciate the thoughts. thanks ah pang!

my babes organised a dinner at brussels sprouts, pier@robertson to celebrate my birthday. i'm surprised that they chose this place because they knew i love mussels and this bistro has more than 10 ways of preparing mussels! eating the mussels reminded me of the chilli mussels i had in perth - really missed it!!
they were really sweet and mitch was very thoughtful and remembered that i mentioned in our previous meetings that i was looking for a nice hat and she went to get me one! it's so cute that even andrew said it reminded him of strawberry shortcake's hat! haha! i am definitely gonna get more hats!
as usual, the session was full of gossips and laughter. lotsa updates bout each other's lives where we bitch about our nasty colleagues and whine about work. though the dinner was a short session but i'm glad at least we tried to meet during each other's birthdays and special occasions to catch up. thanks babes!

god-ma and cousins was very nice and wanted to buy me dinner. god-ma gave me an angbao while wenjun bought us dinner. after that we went to ktv till 2ish. cousins power!

actually wanted to arrange for dinner with reece and stanley but stan injured his shoulders so dinner was pushed back. reece came by to buy me lunch and to also pass me my pressie.
so nice of them and they really have good taste! they knew i don't have any watch in copper color so thought this may be a good choice for me!

and lastly, i also wanna thank my mom and ting for getting me these fabulous bags!

i feel very loved and treasured by everyone that i've mentioned in this entry. i wanna express my heartfelt thanks to you sweeties for making 10 jan such memorable day for me.
