rabbit or lion??

went to bugis today and i met this lady.. she knows my occupation.. all the long and irregular hours, my pay etc.. but i told her that though my pay is little, i'm having a good and fun working environment.. in return, she told me this..

there is a lion and a rabbit in the wild. the lion was chasing the rabbit and after awhile, the rabbit managed to get away. some animal came along and said to the lion, "you are the king of beast, yet you can't even capture a tiny rabbit?" the lion replied "i am just running after my meal, while the rabbit is running for its life"

now, the lady asked me "are you the rabbit or the lion?"

i couldn't answer.. it took me awhile before i could reply anything.. i'm young and energetic.. shouldn't i be the rabbit, running and working hard to earn lotsa money before i can be the lion, who will earn just enough for meals??

what's my objective?? to stay in a fun place where i couldn't even feed my parents few years down the road? to stay in a place where the money paid does not match the amount of work that i was doing? her words really caught me thinking..

i thanked her for the 20 mins and left..
